Grand Auction
A Grand Charity Auction is to be held on Saturday 13th March in Ewhurst Village Hall, at 6pm. All are welcome to join us and enjoy a great social evening whilst contributing towards raising funds in good company. It will be the best social occasion of the year, as we have Jonathan Pratt of Bellman’s Auctioneers the TV celebrity auctioneer.
This is not an occasion to be missed!
We will of course need your donations of goods to auction on the night, including a new feature of your promises of services. Have you something you can give or contribute to the auction? as long as it is saleable it will be most welcome. Is there a forgotten treasure lurking in your loft you can donate? Or is there a promise/service you can offer to do for your neighbours?
Local company sponsorship and donations would be especially welcomed, an ideal opportunity to reach out to your local audience; “Tell people what your businesses can offer!”
Delivery of items can be made to the village hall on Friday 12th March from 2pm to 7pm.
So don’t miss out on this social occasion of the year, a drinks bar will be available and “Ben & Murray” will run a stall with their home-made hot dogs and burgers.
Contact either Martin on 01483 277541 or Jane on 01483 275047 if you wish to donate, or require further information.

Splendour by Abi Morgan
'Splendour' is a gripping play about decadence and dictatorship. Four women are trapped inside the house of a European dictator as rebel forces surround them. They are the dictator's wife, her old friend, a photographer and an interpreter. In the course of a day relationships and loyalties dissolve as the claustrophobic scenario is shaken and re-arranged. This is not an easy play as the structure is not linear but it is a rewarding one.

An Exhibition of Works of Art on Postcard
Join us for an extraordinary evening in the splendour of Goldsmiths’ Hall in central London.
Artists and celebrities have kindly created works of art on postcards for CHASE which will be exhibited in the magnificent setting of Goldsmiths’ Hall.
You will be able to view the postcards whilst enjoying abundant champagne and canapés and you will also have the opportunity to buy a postcard lottery ticket to take home a signed original.
Works of art have been created by celebrated artists such as Mary Fedden, John Yardley and Gerald Scarfe, so it really is an extraordinary opportunity to take home a unique work of art. There will also be a silent auction for other pieces of donated art work.
The evening will start at 6pm and will finish at 9pm.
As well as the postcard exhibition, you will also be able to view the silver and silver gilt display which will be exhibited at Goldsmiths’ at that time.
Tickets for the exhibition cost £80 each.
If you are unable to join us, you can still buy a ticket to enter the postcard lottery. (Postcard lottery tickets will be sold to guests at the exhibition during the evening.) Postcard lottery tickets cost £75 each and every entry will receive at least one postcard. Please use the ticket application form on the CHASE website to purchase both.
Goldsmiths’ Hall is easily accessible via public transport. The closest underground stations are St Paul’s, Mansion House and Barbican. There is also an NCP car park close to the hall in Aldersgate Street.
We hope you will join us for this exceptional event.
