New details about the fierce heathland fire in Frensham reveal residents were minutes from being evacuated from their homes.

But ninety firefighters managed to tackle the flames on Frensham common earlier this month and save six million pounds worth of properties.

The fire destroyed 80 hectares of common land.

The cause is still being investigated.
