County Sound Radio Presenters

Dave Johns
Monday to Saturday Breakfast 7am - Midday

I was born in Surrey and have I’ve lived here all my life. The local places I love include anywhere along the Thames, the grounds of Guildford Castle and any country pub serving real ale (not lager or that frothy stuff) and a decent, good value meal. I love cycling, swimming and walking and try to keep reasonably fit, but often fail miserably.

I enjoy following the Guildford Flames ice hockey team and attend as many matches as I can.

My taste in music is extensive and I don’t really have any particular favourite groups or artists but I do like the Stones, Queen, Dire Straits, Elvis, Buddy Holly, the Drifters, Dusty Springfield and Girls Aloud

Although I watch TV, there are only a few programmes that I’m into including Dancing on Ice, factual/news documentaries,  2 and a half Men, Frasier (when it was on), Harry Hill’s TV Burp and Desperate Housewives (there goes my street cred!)

There isn’t much I won’t eat except egg custard pudding, olives and marzipan (except a little in Christmas cake) so I’m good for Sunday roast, Chinese, Tai, Mexican and Indian meals, pizzas and fish and chips

I like animals but prefer other people to have pets. I’m up early enough every morning as it is without wanting to worry about sorting out a cat or walking a dog.

I’m not a very keen gardener but I’m ok at DIY when I get started although I can usually find a good reason why jobs around the house can wait until next weekend

When it comes to holidays, I prefer to spend time in the sunshine rather than in snow and particularly like Turkey, the Canary Islands, Portugal, parts of Spain and Tunisia although, for a holiday in Britain, nowhere beats Devon and Cornwall.

Finally, I was asked recently what I couldn’t live without if I was stranded on a deserted island. It would be a radio, a pc (computer not a police officer!) and a crate of proper beer.

That’s me - cheers
